What is Hijab?

Hijab is an Arabic word which means curtain or cover. This term is used in Holy Quran (Muslims holy book). It is said that Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) used to say to his wives to talk to any other men, if necessary, by standing behind the hijab. That is why hijab is referred as a cover or a divider. It is a special curtain that provides privacy to Muslim women. Quran has also used the word jilbab for hijab.

Hijabs are available in different styles and colors for Muslim women today. They can now cover themselves and can look good as well.

The common hijab styles available in market today are

One more thing has been observed that all the luxurious hijabs fall into the category of long hijabs.

Single Piece Hijab

Single piece hijab was introduced and was manufactured by the people of Middle East. It is made of jersey sort of fabric and the shape of it is tubular. It is single piece and is available in many different colors. It is easy to wrap them over the head because of the material it is made from. You can buy them in different colors as they are not very much expensive and you can match them with the color of your dress.

Square Hijab

It is usually wear in the parts of Eastern Europe and Southern Asia. They are actually the alternative of tube or rectangular hijabs. They are commonly made from the fabric polyester or cotton. There can be different designs or patterns drawn on these hijabs or they can be plain as well.
